Counseling & Assessment Services

Individual Therapy

People seek counseling for many reasons. You may need support managing anxiety and stress, overcoming depression, building healthier relationships, or learning to talk about your feelings and needs.

At LifeWork, we love getting to know our clients and giving each of them the unique support they need to heal and grow. Growth means different things for different people, and we’ll work together with you to figure out what patterns are keeping you from getting what you want from your life and your relationships.

Some of the issues we help our clients with are...
  • Managing stress, anxiety, and conflict
  • Letting go of depression and low self-esteem
  • Developing happy, close, meaningful relationships
  • Building better communication skills
  • Healing from trauma, abuse, or dysfunctional families
  • Exploring who you are and what you want from life

Couple Therapy

We all want a happy, close relationship with our partner. However, the gap between our dreams of closeness and the disappointing reality of an unhappy, disconnected relationship can make us feel alone, frustrated, and hopeless. How can a relationship start with so much passion and generosity and end up with so much disconnection and hostility?

At LifeWork, we’re passionate about helping couples — gay and straight, married and unmarried — handle the challenges that relationships present. We believe in the power and importance of happy, healthy relationships, and we believe that the work needed to build and maintain a good relationship is entirely worth it. We’re committed to helping you and your partner communicate better, heal from past disappointments, rebuild trust and passion, and connect on a deeper level.

We’re here to help you both build the relationship you’ve always wanted.

Child & Family Therapy

As rewarding as it can be, being a parent is one of the toughest jobs imaginable. Facing pressure from other parents, judgment from family members, and conflicting messages from various outside sources can leave you feeling anxious, frustrated, and confused about how to best help your child. Many of us also place tremendous demands on ourselves as we struggle to meet our own unrealistically high expectations.

At LifeWork, we work with children, teens, and all kinds of families who need help, including blended families, single parents, same-sex families, and members of the adoption triad. We work collaboratively and consult with other professionals helping your child or family, including teachers and medical professionals.

We can help parents...

  • Build parenting skills, including consistent and effective discipline
  • Build better, closer, healthier relationships with their children
  • Deal with temper tantrums and other acting-out behaviors
  • Work together as a team and support each other
  • Understand and support their children through issues like ADHD, anxiety, abuse, and adoption

We can help children and teens...

  • Manage ADHD, anxiety, depression, and stress
  • Heal from abuse and neglect experiences
  • Develop healthy coping mechanisms
